The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Supply Chain Planner to oversee production forecasting, scheduling, supply procurement, and vendor management across our Apple refurbishment operation. This role ensures devices and supplies are available to meet demand while optimizing inventory levels, production capacity, and operating costs. The position reports to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Production Forecasting and Scheduling
Forecast daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly production output using inbound volume, WIP inventory, staffing levels, and production rates.
Maintain forecasting tools and provide production forecasts to Operations and Sales teams.
Recommend staffing, overtime, and labor adjustments based on forecasted demand.
Create and manage daily production schedules to ensure customer commitments are met and production lines remain fully utilized.
Monitor production timelines and communicate status updates to leadership.
Supply Procurement and Vendor Management
Manage purchasing for production, warehouse, and operational supplies.
Maintain appropriate inventory levels by balancing stock availability, ordering costs, and holding costs.
Source new suppliers and negotiate pricing, terms, and purchasing agreements.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor partnerships and supply chain improvements.
Develop and maintain vendor scorecards and hold suppliers accountable to quality standards.
Coordinate returns and corrective actions for non-conforming supplies.
Qualifications
Required
2+ years of experience in supply chain planning, procurement, inventory management, operations, or a related field.
Strong forecasting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with purchasing, inventory planning, and vendor negotiations
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets proficiency.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
Preferred
Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, refurbishment, distribution, or logistics environments.
Experience with ERP, inventory management, or production planning systems.
Familiarity with Apple products or consumer electronics.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work on-site in our Skokie, IL warehouse.
Ability to move throughout warehouse and production areas as needed.
Available Monday through Friday, with flexibility based on business needs.
